Nissan tried to rise in the Low-MPV Indonesia segment by utilizing its alliance with Mitsubishi. Recently there was news that Nissan would make Livina from the platform used by Xpander.
In response, Director of Sales of PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI), Michimasa Kono still did not provide further details.
"I am not in the right position to talk about the Nissan plan, so far I do not know," he said when asked detikOto.
But the emergence of the latest Nissan Livina this year is undeniable by Nissan itself in Indonesia. Nissan said the MPV is one of the lineups that they will present on the car market in Indonesia this year.

"We have indeed announced that we will issue a new car (LMPV) because it is one of our strategies. Only now the information cannot be more than that," said Head of Communication at Nissan Motor Indonesia, Hana Maharani some time ago.
For the MPV car to be presented it might be produced from the Xpander platform, Hana has not provided a firm answer but does not rule out the possibility of that happening. "Yes, it can be like that (twin 'Xpander' comes to challenge the new Avanza and Xenia-Red). There are 3 strategies that we have, first is product offensive where we will launch new products in Indonesia including SUVs and MPVs," he continued .
If Nissan will really make the Xpander 'twin', it will certainly make the Low-MPV market competition map in Indonesia even more attractive. Considering that this step is quite successful, the Xenia Avanza has been implemented in recent years.
